About Me

As an Advanced Practice Psychiatric/Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner (NPP), Bernadette Barron has the credentials and experience in traditional treatment for a wide range of mental health services, such as depression, PTSD, schizophrenia, and more while her personal exploration has also proven the value of taking a holistic approach to the deeper issues affecting a person’s life. This combination of classic therapy for psychiatric disorders and substance abuse issues, as well as medication management combined with complementary therapies ensures that both the symptoms and deeper root causes are addressed and healed in the most effective way possible.

Bernadette is a graduate of SUNY Stony Brook with a master’s in science. She has been both a consultant and educator for patients with mental health issues and their families, helping them create richer, fuller lives.

As a NPP, Bernadette can address both psychiatric conditions and medical disorders with psychiatric symptoms. While she believes there is more to healing than taking a pill, she also knows that proper medication management is crucial to alleviating symptoms until underlying issues are addressed. She has treated patients at Clubhouse of Suffolk, which uses a mix of traditional treatment with support services and healthy living/healthy mind programs.

She earned her RN from Suffolk County Community College in 1999. Bernadette is also trained in complementary treatments such as Reiki, which was hailed by Dr. Oz in his January 6, 2010, talk show as his favorite alternative therapy. “Reiki is one of my favorites. We’ve been using it for years in the Oz family, and we swear by it.”
Bernadette creates a safe environment for her patients where they can work together to heal both mind and body, thereby creating the fulfilling life they desire.

Are you ready to live better?

Are you sick of being miserable, anxious or sluggish?

Happiness is your birthright.

Bernadette Barron has a unique approach for developing a healing process specific to your needs. Unlike traditional therapists, she focuses on both body and mind to create a whole body transformation with the goal of total healing. Bernadette helps you get to the root of the issue and create real change that unleashes your authentic self.

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Bernadette can evaluate whether medication would be a useful part of your treatment program and, if desired, prescribe accordingly. Bernadette also realizes that medication is only a tool, not a long-term solution so she compassionately works with you to develop the perfect treatment method for your specific needs. This includes contact outside of normal sessions when needed, through text or phone, to address your current crisis or just facilitate your therapeutic process.

This mind/body approach empowers you to develop the balance and wholeness to live your best life. If you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, and are ready to make a change, schedule a preliminary consultation to see if Bernadette is the right method for you.

Bernadette is a member in good standing of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), formerly the American College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP). The AANP is the first, and only, association dedicated to Nurse Practitioners and their craft.  Through continued education of its members (including seminars, conferences and regular research), the AANP helps to ensure a solid regulatory foundation that enables Nurse Practitioners to continue providing high quality healthcare.
